The P.A.T.R.O.L (Preventing Auto Theft Through Regional
Operational Links) Regional Auto Theft Task
Force is a 5-person, multi-jurisdictional team with over 20 different Police agencies in King and Pierce
Counties that have signed an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement supporting the Task Force's mission:
"To aggressively pursue and prosecute prolific offenders
to auto theft through multi-agency cooperation"
Currently there are five Detectives from King and Pierce County Departments that make up the Task Force. (Tukwila, Auburn, Federal Way, King County
Sheriff's Office, and Bonney Lake) We also have a crime analyst from Bonney Lake and are overseen by a Commander from Tukwila PD. The entire Task Force
wages, benefits, equipment, training and expenses are paid by a State awarded grant from the Washington Auto Theft Prevention Authority (WATPA).
Using money from the WATPA Grant, the P.A.T.R.O.L. Auto Theft Task Force focuses solely on the Prevention, Detection, and the Prosecution of the most prolific
Auto Theft offenders in King and Pierce Counties.
